Wyldheart Demo Multiplayer: Join Codes & Co-op
The demo supports solo play or a party of up to four. In 0.7.2 CL39302, the host’s join code is visible in Lobby/Roster. Share that code with your friends; if a campaign will not load, check online services before retrying.

Host and join-code checklist
- Update the demo. Have the group finish available Steam updates. CL39302 specifically fixes host join-code visibility.
- Check the host’s Lobby/Roster. Once hosting, look there for the code. This location is confirmed by the hotfix notes.
- Share the code with the party. Ask friends to use the game’s join-code flow. Use the current on-screen prompts; the published notes do not specify a complete sequence of join-screen buttons.
- If joining stalls, check service status. The later CL39317 hotfix improves logins and reconnects. Check the official status page for current outages or maintenance.
- Review saving before hosting
Online saves and offline trials have different persistence rules.
- Troubleshoot a campaign connection loop
Check the service page and dated hotfixes before retrying.
How many people can play?
The October 8 announcement describes playing alone or with up to three friends, with players able to drop in or out. That is a maximum of four active players including the host.
A missing join code is different from a loading failure. The first has a named 0.7.2 fix; the second can involve service connectivity. Keep those symptoms separate when troubleshooting.
Shared XP in this demo
According to the developer-team FAQ, players with you receive shared XP. Teammates who are offline do not. Asynchronous shared XP is being held back while it is developed.
If your group is planning a campaign around drop-in sessions, do not promise that an absent friend will catch up automatically. The current demo rule takes precedence over the broader game description.
What changes with party size?
The FAQ says difficulty scales with the number of players by adding enemies rather than increasing their hit points. This is a demo-specific explanation; it does not establish a fixed enemy count for any room.
If the host loads but a friend cannot connect
Check that the host is actually hosting, that the code is copied from the current Lobby/Roster, and that updates are complete. These are setup checks, not a promise that a code will bypass a service issue.
If everyone remains stuck at campaign loading, consult the demo-not-working guide. An offline solo session loses progress on exit and should not be presented as a replacement for a saved co-op campaign.
What to include in a co-op report
Report whether you were the host or a joining player, whether the host could see a code, the build and the screen where loading stopped. Keep session codes out of public bug reports when they are not needed to describe the problem.
