Wyldheart’s public Steam demo launched on October 8, 2026. Download it from the official game store page. It is a standalone one-shot adventure; the full game remains listed as coming soon.

Get the official demo

  1. Open the official Steam listing. Use the Wyldheart store link below, rather than a third-party installer.
  2. Choose Download Wyldheart Demo. Install the demo through Steam. The developer FAQ says it is available to all players.
  3. Finish any updates before starting. The October 9 announcements include 0.7.2 hotfixes for connections and host join codes.
  4. Check saving before a long run. The demo relies on online saves. Offline progress is lost on exit.

What is included?

The team describes a standalone one-shot with several hours of content: The Slurper’s Den, the surrounding Whisperwoods and Rivermere. The FAQ describes one village and four dungeons in total, with around five or more hours to see the available content. That is an estimate, not a required completion time.

The launch announcement confirms four ancestry options and 19 backgrounds. Skill trees allow flexible character builds instead of a predetermined class roster.

Is the full game out?

The Steam listing offers the demo while marking the main game as coming soon. A demo download does not mean Early Access or version 1.0 has launched.

The official website calls the demo limited time. No closing date was verified in the reviewed material; check the store before planning a later session. This page records availability checked on October 11 rather than promising permanent access.

Controller and Steam Deck expectations

The team says controller support is available and that the demo is playable on Steam Deck, but recommends PC with mouse and keyboard while controller work and Deck optimisation continue. Playable is not a promise of a fully optimised experience.

For a first session, review the in-game controls and the saving mode. When you learn a spell, the equip-spells guide explains the verified Grimoire and T-wheel sequence.

Can you replay it?

The FAQ says you can create another campaign in the menu and keep multiple campaigns for different friend groups. It also says demo saves will not be compatible with the game at launch. Choose a demo run for experimentation rather than expecting a transferable character.
